Only sister of Thomas, 7th Earl of Northumberland, and Henry, 8th Earl of Northumberland. Her marriage to Francis raised the Slingsbys above the yeomanry. Her death probably occasioned the establishment of the Slingsby Chapel, which didn't exist at the Dissolution of the Monasteries and Chantries, and was probably known before that time as the Chapel of St Mary Magdalene, with holdings at Knaresborough and Scriven.
