DoeppenSchmidt Funeral Homes was the scene of services for Mrs. Catharine D. Emmert, 73, on December 18th. Rev. Frank Pullin of Sequin officiated. Burial was in Comal Cemetery. Mrs. Emmert was dead on arrival at McKenna Memorial Hospital Dec. 13th. She was born on August 3, 1902 in Jericho, KY. to Louis F. & Bell Campbell Douglas. Her husband, Homer, preceded her in death in 1972. A resident of the city for 5 years, Mrs. Emmert was affiliated with the Baptist Church and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2999. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Carl Stephens of Seguin; a step-daughter, Mrs. Frances Faw of Wilkesboro, NC; and two step-sons, Lawrence and Gene Emmert, both of California. Pallbearers were Bennie Doeppenschmidt, Richard S. Moeller, and David Stewart. Mrs. Emmert was also the sister-in-law of Roy Acuff of Grand Ole Opry Fame.
