Homer F. Emmert, 73, 162E Faust St. died at New Braunfels Hospital on Aug. 15. A Native of Bristol, TN, he resided in New Braunfels one year. Mr. Emmert was the son of John Nathaniel and Julia Francis Garland Emmert. He was a retired shipping clerk with the Pet Milk Company. Emmert married Catherine Doulgas in 1938. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow; a daughter Mrs. Frances Faw of North Carolina, A step-daughter Mrs. Carl Stevens of New Braunfels; two sons Lawrence an Gene Emmert both of California. Two brothers, Summers Emmert of Bristol, TN. and Paul Emmert of Damascus, VA; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral service was conducted by the Rev. Bill Arnold, August 18, at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home. Burial was at Comal Cemetery. Pallbearers were Udo Koehler, Richard S. Moeller, Ervin E. Schroeder, Jr., and David Stewart. Homer was also the brother-in-law of Roy Acuff of TN, of Grand Ole Opry Fame.
