Corporal Brady served with the 326th Combat Crew Training Squadron at MacDill Army Airfield, Tampa, Florida.

He was one of nine airmen killed in a crash of B-17F Flying Fortress #42-6197, twelve miles southwest of a location described as Green Springs, in Manatee County, Florida.

The aircrew killed were: 2nd Lt. Lawrence S Scofield, Jr, Pilot; 2nd Lt. Farlan L Spencer, Co-pilot; 2nd Lt. Lowell E Smith; 2nd Lt. Alonza L Winder; Cpl. Adrian W Armour; Cpl. Lynn H McClurg; Cpl. Gene Sine; Cpl. Edward J Strainer; Cpl. John F Brady.

Obituary - Escalante Bomber Copilot dies in Florida Accident; Funeral Rites Set For Tuesday

Second Lt. Farlan L. Spencer, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Spencer, Escalante, was killed in an airplane accident at Tampa, Fla., on Nov. 18.

A native of Escalante, he was born on Dec. 21, 1923, and attended Escalante high school and Brigham Young University. He enlisted in the Army Air Forces in April 1943, and was commissioned in June 1944. He was copilot of a B-17.

Survivors include his parents; a sister, Kenna, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Spencer, Escalante.

Funeral services will be conducted in Escalante LDS ward chapel on Tuesday by Andrew Spencer, bishop.
