Although Stephanielynn had multiple birth defects including spina bifada and was 'given a life expectancy' of three years, she lived to the age of 9. Although she was never able to crawl, walk or talk she brought alot of joy and inspiration to those of us fortunate to know and love her.

Her birth mother 'gave her up' for adoption and the family that adopted her provided her with all the love she deserved.

Note: Stephanielyn is survived by her adoptive parents, Vincent and Donna [Cochran] Cottone formerly of Wyandotte and Brownstown, Mi., their children, Barbara, Maryann, Vincent, Tammy, Lena and many adoptive and foster brothers and sisters.

*I'd like to offer my heartfelt thanks to Renee Rybanski for sponsoring Stephanielynn's memorial site. What a wonderful act of kindness. May your reward be a hundredfold and may God bless and keep you in the hollow of His hand.

~Heavens Very Special Child~

A meeting was held, quite far from earth
"It's time again for another birth"
Said the Angels to the Lord above,
"This special child will need much love.

Her progress may seem very slow,
Accomplishments she may not show
And she'll require extra care
From all the folks she meets down there.

She may not run or laugh or play
Her thoughts may seem quite far away
In many ways she won't adapt
And she'll be known as handicapped.

So lets be careful where she's sent,
We want her life to be content
Please, Lord, find the right parents who
Will do this special job for You.

They may not realize right away
The leading role they're asked to play,
But with this child sent from above
Comes stronger faith and richer love.

And soon they'll know the privilege given
In caring for this gift from Heaven.
Their precious charge, so meek and mild
Is Heavens Very Special Child.
