Died, at her home in southwest Leon, Saturday morning at 3 o'clock, MRS.
ALFERETTA BENNETT, who was the wife of one of our townsmen, MR. J.F.
BENNETT. MRS. BENNETT was well known to the people of Leon and Decatur
County, having grown up to womanhood in the county. She was the mother
of four children, one boy and three girls. Two little girls preceded
their mother to the other land.
MRS. BENNETT was a member of the Baptist Church and lived a faithful,
consistent life unto the end. She has been in ill health for the past
(can't read the words), kept to her bed for the last month, growing
gradually worse until death came. Her funeral was held at the home by
Rev. J.F. Gibson in the presence of a large company of friends and
relatives. The remains were laid to rest in the Palestine Cemetery
Sunday afternoon.
