James Franklin Bennett was born in Rockford Illinois Dec 6 1860 and died Nov 21 1929 at the home of his daughter Mrs. Earl Shockey in Lineville, Iowa.

He married Jennie Dec Feb 11 1883. She died in 1886. They had two children John K and Huron who preceded the parents in death.

Jun 1891 he married Allie Action who died in 1899. They had four children, Urea, Fern, J.F. Jr., and Dolly.

In later years he married Louella Mace in Leon, Iowa. Four children were born to them, Douglass, Theodore, Neoma and Mary Bell. Those living at their fathers death were Douglass and Neoma.

He was a member of the Davis City Baptist church. The funeral was conducted from his daughter's home in Lineville, by Rev. Humphrey.
