Glessie was born December 26, 1901 at Corbin, Kentucky, to parents William and Martha (Parks) Brooks. She moved with her family to Caldwell in 1908. In 1926 she married Robert Jewel Corbin. They enjoyed a devoted relationship until his death in 1963.
Glessie worked in retail and she also served as housemother in the men's dorm at Boise Junior College. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church.
Glessie is survived by her son, Donald R. Corbin and grandson, Brooks A. Corbin of Newport Beach, California; granddaughter, Jennifer McConnell of Orange, California; and two grandsons, Christian and Kevin McConnell. Her sole surviving sister, Neita Inglis, resides in Boise. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert and her daughter Joanne Corbin; her brother Earl Brooks and her sisters, Elsie Wilson and Cecile Olson.
