Services for Mrs. Martha Brooks, 94, formerly of 719 South Tenth Ave. who died Friday, in a Caldwell nursing home, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday at the Flahiff chapel. The Rev. Kenneth Armstrong will officiate. Interment will be at Cloverdale.
Mrs. Brooks was born Dec. 15, 1871, in Claiborne County Tenn. and was married there Nov. 4, 1888 to William Brooks.
The couple came to Caldwell in September 1907 and operated the second hand store and the Brooks Motor and Service Stations in Boise Valley.
Mrs. Brooks was a member of the Memorial Park baptist Church, a member of the Women's Christian Temperance Union and active in missionary work. Her husband died Feb. 13, 1960 in Caldwell.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Elsie Wilson, Mrs. Glessie Corbin, Mrs. Cecile Olson and Mrs. Neita Inglis, all of Boise, a sister Mrs. Will Rowlett, Jonesville, Va., nine grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Earl E. Brooks, in 1963 in Caldwell, and five brothers and five sisters.
