Louita Brooks Bill

WAYLAND - Louita Brooks Bill, 91 years of age formerly of S. Main Street, Wayland, passed away early Saturday afternoon June 27, 2009, at the Livingston County Healthcare Facility in Mt. Morris where she has resided for the past couple of years.

Louita was born September 10, 1917, the daughter of Wirt and Jennie (Hansen) Wetmore at there home in Springwater. She grew up in Springwater and was a life resident of the Springwater/Wayland areas.

Louita and Milton Brooks were married December 16, 1939, and together they celebrated over 42 years of marriage prior to Milton passing away Nov. 9, 1982. Louita and Milton had four children, Anita, Donald, Molly and Steven.

On August 13, 1988, Louita and Robert Bill were married and they have celebrated over 20 years together. Robert survives and resides in Dansville. Louita was a housewife and homemaker for her family and was very active with her children as they grew up, and as the grandchildren arrived. Louita was there to spend a lot of time with them. She was her mother and sister's caretaker for several years and she watched her grandchildren when-ever she could. During her younger years, Louita was involved with the local 4-H, and Cub Scout clubs, and as the years went by she was a member of the Springwater Grange and was active at St. Paul's United Church of Christ of which she was a member for over 30 years.

Louita was predeceased by her first husband, Milton Brooks; her daughter, Anita Brooks; and her son Donald Brooks. She is survived by her husband, Robert Bill of Dansville; her daughter, Molly (Dick) Tweddell of Way-land; her son, Steve (Donna) Brooks of Wayland; her daughter-in-law, Sally (Bud) Higginbotham of Wayland; her step-children, Judy Becker of Dansville, Eileen Blake of Dansville, Gary (Edie) Bill of Wayland and Dick (Paula) Bill of Dansville; her grandchildren, Lauri (Cal) Huffman of N.C., Terri (Dave) Moir of Atlanta, Jennifer (Terry) Burke of Springwater, Jeffrey (Erron) Brooks of Lima, Jamie Brooks (Brian Finn) of Wayland, Heidi (Jeff) Grimes of Savona; sister-in-law Ruby Birge of Wayland; several great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; along with many nieces and nephews.

Louita's funeral service was conducted at the St. George-Stanton Funeral in Wayland. The burial was held at Evergreen/Covered Bridge Cemetery in Springwater.
