Margaret Christina Maurer was born in Springwells, Michigan (now Dearborn/Detroit). She married Herschal Frank Barton in Delray, Michigan on November 14, 1900. They had the following children:
Charles 1902-1936; Clair Leon 1904-1994; Olive Adelaide 1906-1991; Jessie 1908-1913; Melvin N. 1911-1998. All of the children were born in Wayne Co., Michigan. Sometime between 1920-1928, they relocated to California.
