Adrian served in the military during the American Revoution for the State of Virginia as a Private. Information on him is contained in the Daughters of the American Revolution Index and Files. He was pensioned for this service. Fayette Co., KY Courthouse contains a bronze plaque commemorating Revolutionary War Pensioners from the Maryland line.

Although Adrian is buried in Union County, Kentucky, there is an imposing cenotaph honoring him and his six brothers who all fought in the American Revolution. This is located in Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town, West Virginia. (Thanks to Cerelle Bolon for this information and cenotaph photo)
