Page Smith, 97, passed away Monday, June 17, 2013, at Season's Hospice in Rochester.

Page was born March 19, 1916, to James Oliver and Lottie Mae Martin in Green City, Mo., the ninth child of 11 children. She graduated from high school in Green City and then married Carl Harold Smith. They moved to Riceville, Iowa, and then to LeRoy, where he managed the LeRoy Grain Elevator and she managed their home. They were married 65 years and had three daughters, eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. After retirement, they spent winters in Sebring, Fla., and their summers in LeRoy.

She was a year-round golfer and was pleased to achieve a "hole in one" on two different occasions during her golfing days. She enjoyed playing bridge and for many years belonged to clubs both places she lived. She was also a gardener of vegetables and flowers and was a longtime member of the LeRoy Garden Club participating with many items in their annual garden shows.

In 2007, Page moved to Madonna Towers Independent Living Center in Rochester. Her family meant a lot to her, and she devoted her life to them. She was loved and admired by her family, was kind, and had a good sense of humor.

She is survived by daughters, Mrs. Patty (Dennis) Harvey of Lanesboro, and Mrs. Karen (Cedric) Schutz of Rochester.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Carl in 1996, a daughter, Peggy Ann Leuck and son-in-law, Michael Reno Leuck in 2010.

Memorials, if desired, can be made to Season's Hospice and the Volunteer Firemen or Ambulances Services of LeRoy.
