Rites at Mulvane For Farmer, 96, Set for Thursday
Funeral services for Gilead Bartholomew, 96, Mulvane, will be held at 2 p. m. Thursday in Mulvane Methodist Church. The Rev. Robert A. Haines, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Mulvane Cemetery. Mulvane Mortuary has charge of arrangements.
Mr. Bartholomew, a Mulvane area resident since 1899, died Tuesday at his home.
He was born Nov. 23, 1863, at Quincy, Ill. He married his wife Evaline, Oct. 12, 1877, at Elvaston, Ill. They moved to a farm southeast of Mulvane where they resided until his retirement. He was a member of Mulvane Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Leon, Mulvane; two daughters, Mrs, Lula Howard, Mulvane, and Mrs. Ethel Howard, Neal, Kan.; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
