Jack was a practicing architect until 1933, when he joined the firm of Steuben Glass (a subsidiary of Corning Glass) as managing director in charge of design.

During WWII, Jack served as a Lieutenant in Naval Intelligence in New York and London, and was in Belgium during the Battle of the Bulge.

He won an International prize for the replanning of a part of Stockholm, Sweden.
