Obituary:

Nova Gene Baney, son of the late Thomas and Fern (Hall) Baney, was born on July 21, 1944 in Davenport, Iowa, and passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2013, at his residence north of Mtn. Grove, Missouri. He was 68 years, 10 months and 24 days of age.

Nova lived in Iowa during his early years where he attended school. The family later moved to Cabool, Missouri. In the early 1960's, he moved his family to the Green Mountain area. He worked in construction during his early adult years, and later operated the B&M Septic service for twenty-five years and retired in 1997.

Nova enjoyed being outdoors, especially when fishing. He also liked to visit with his many friends.

He loved his family very much and looked forward to spending time with them, and his German Shepherd dog companion, Hannah. He also will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife: Mary Baney and their children: Vickie, Tammy, Nova Jr., and Willis; his second wife: Janet (Creed) Baney; three brothers: Thomas Baney, J.D. Baney, and Garland "Ray" Baney; and by two sisters: Connie Childers and Shirley Upshaw.

He is survived by two sons: Randy Creed and his wife, Jennifer, and Novie "Buck" Baney; three daughters: Candy Cooper and her husband, Mike, Nora Means and her husband, Richard, and Thelma Baney, all of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; nine grandchildren: Austin Creed, Mikey Cooper, Dakota Means, Rebecca Cooper, Andrea Creed, Marissa Means, Katelyn Creed, Hunter Means, and Levi Creed; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
