Wife of J.L. Maneval.

Died

On Thursday morning, while her many friends slept, Mrs. J. L. Maneval went home to her God, after a lingering illness of several years. The funeral was be held in the M. E. church of this city this Friday morning, July 13, '94, conducted by Rev. Cook.

Susannah Grosemiller was born in the city of Philadelphia, Pa., and from there her parents moved to the Susquehahna Valley where at the age of nine years she was left an orphan. She became a member of the Methodist Episcopal church when sixteen years of age, was married to J. L. Maneval on the 27th of Sept., 1860. She was the mother of four daughters and three sons who are all living, and has been a resident of Centralia since 1878. She was an invalid for some years before coming to the state, but the change of climate seemed to be temporarily a benefit. For the last eight years she has suffered, at intervals, intense physical pain. Her last words were, "Oh Lord take me."
