Dec 20, 1961 - Humboldt Republican - Livermore - Herman Gronbach, well known resident of the Livermore - Lu Verne area, died Monday at Lutheran hospital, Fort Dodge, following a lingering illness. He was 73.
Funeral services will be at 2 Thursday afternoon in the Evangelical Lutheran church of Lu Verne with the Rev. Allen Rudow officiating. Burial will be in Union cemetery, Livermore, with the Schellhammer funeral home of West Bend in charge. The body will be taken to the Gronbach home in Livermore, Wednesday, where friends may call after 1:30 p.m. It will remain there until Thursday at 12:30 p.m., when it will be taken lo the church
Mr. Gronbach was born on April 1, 1888, at Lu Verne and attended the rural schools near Lu Verne. He married Dora Rabe on Oct. 7, 1913, in the Peace Lutheran church at West Bend. He farmed in the Lu Verne and Livermore area until 1952, when he and his wife retired and moved into Livermore.
He is survived by his wife and five children: Mrs. Roy Brown, Harold, Leroy, Mrs. Richard Cran, and Mrs. Allen Sinclair, all of Livermore and 16 grandchildren. Four brothers, Chris, of Clear Lake, Frank of Lu Verne, Elmer of
Livermore and Lawrence of Los Angeles, Calif., also survive, as does one sister, Mrs. Rosie Hohenberger of Livermore.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
