Services for Esther M. Davies, 102, of 925 Davidson Drive, Nashville, Tenn., formerly of Harrisburg, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Immanuel Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 800 S Market St, Mechanicsburg.

She died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 1998 in the home of her daughter.

Born April 17, 1895 in Hummelstown, she was a daughter of the late Ernest Mann and Ida Rebecca Schwartz Shope and the widow of Edris G. Davies.

She was a former employee of Dauphin County Courthouse.

Mrs. Davies was a member of Market Square Presbyterian Church; Harrisburg Choral Society, Harrisburg Civic Club; and various PTA's in the Harrisburg area. She was a soprano and soloist in churches throughout the Harrisburg area.

Surviving are her daughter, Betty Davies Frierson of Nashville, Tenn.; three sons, the Rev. Ray W. of Bradenton, Fla., Richard A. of Loudon, Tenn. and Edris W. of Mechanicsburg; 23 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Robert E. of Coral Springs, Fla., and Thomas E. of Jasper, Ala.

The Rev. Ray W. Davies and Dr. Joseph Arthur will officiate at Saturday's service. Burial will be in Hummelstown Cemetery, Hummelstown.

There will be no viewing; however, friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Malpezzi Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg, is handling arrangements.
