Charles William Gammage was born on January 9, 1936 in Houston County, Texas to Carl and Irene Franklin Gammage. Shortly after his birth, his father passed away and his mother was married to Albert Clines who raised him. He grew up and attended school in Ralls, Texas, and proudly served in the United States Air Force. Charles moved to Brownwood in 1962 and attended the Calvary Baptist Church. He was a caring person and took own being a caretaker for people and also many abandoned pets. He is survived by his sister, Sue Hogue and husband Larry of Brownwood; brother, Tony Clines and wife Jackie of Robinson, Texas; niece and nephews, Lori Killough of Robinson, Texas, Robin Hogue of Early, Texas, Jeffrey Paul of Los Angelos, Calif., Kelly Thompson of Waco, Texas, and Jenny Clines of Washington, D.C.; numerous great-nieces and nephews; and a great-great-niece and nephew. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Gammage; mother and step-father, Irene and Albert Clines.
