Mrs. Myrtle Troutman

Mrs. Myrtle Brawley Troutman, 55, of 309 North Rose Avenue, died early today at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital following several years of declining health and a serious illness of three weeks.

Services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday at St David's Lutheran Church, where she was a member, by Rev. Clyde P. Haas Jr. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. Memorials may be sent to St. David's Lutheran Church. The body will remain at Whitley's Funeral Home until taken to the church at the funeral hour. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 until 9 p.m. Saturday.

BornJan. 6, 1930 in Iredell County, Mrs. Troutman was the daughter of the late John H. Brawley and Mrs. Mamie Caudill Brawley and had spent most of her life in the area. For 15 years she was employed in the wash cloth department of Cannon Mills. Mrs. Troutman was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Cabarrus County Rescue Squad, having served as president and was active in the state association of the rescue squad. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary' of V.F.W. Poston-Perkins Post 8989 and was formerly a Sunday School teacher at St. David's Lutheran Church.

Surviving are her husband, R. Howard Troutman; one son, Ray Troutman of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Victor (Rickie) Walker, Mrs. Terry ' Sylvia) Graham, Mrs. David Anna I Jones, all of Kannapolis: four brothers. Jack Brawley, Richard Brawley, both of Kannapolis, Frank and Harold Brawley, both of Mooresville; two sisters, Mrs. Roy (Thelma) Dancy of Kannapolis and Mrs. Thomas (Annie Sue) Cook of Statesville; six grandchildren.
