He was born in Davenport, October 6, 1932, the son of Verdine A. and Cornelia Ede. On September 4, 1955, he married Phyllis Small in Davenport. She preceded him in death December 16, 1999. Mr. Ede served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He retired in 1994 after 42 years service, as a meat cutter, with Eagle Food Centers in Davenport. He loved fishing, gardening and camping and enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include his children, Lori Ede, of Davenport, Valerie Ann, and her husband, John Reed, of Davenport, and Dawn S. Louck, of Walcott, Iowa; five grandchildren, Christina Louck, Carrie Quartus-Nulsen and Gabriel, Desiree and Elias Reed; two great-grandchildren, Dakota and Madison Nulsen; brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Beulah Ede, of Davenport, and Albert and Ruth Ede, of Bettendorf; brother-in-law, Bob Urmie, of New Liberty, Iowa; and his fianc?e, Martha Faye Twitty, of Tipton. Nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Leonard Myer; and a sister, Marlene Urmie.
