Richard Lynn Armentrout, 64, of Keyser, WV, died Thursday, February 21, 2013 in Oakland. Born January 23, 1949 in Cumberland, MD, he was the son of the late Floyd and Ocie Armentrout.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Linda Marie Armentrout; a brother, Donald L. Armentrout, Sr.; and, a sister-in-law, Pauline Armentrout.

Richard was a graduate of Allegany High School, Class of 1967. He then went on to study at Potomac State College and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from West Virginia University. Mr. Armentrout attended Frostburg State University and earned his Master's Degree in Business Administration.

Mr. Armentrout was retired from New Page, where he had been an electrical engineer. Mr. Armentrout belonged to Grace Baptist Church, where he was a trustee. He was a board member of the Highland Arts Unlimited; belonged to the Western Maryland Railroad Historical Society; and, was active with the Keyser High School Band Boosters for many years. He served as a girl scout leader (Shawnee Council) and boy scout leader (Potomac Council) at the same time.

Survivors include his four children, Amy Hutcherson, and husband Jonathan, Cumberland, Heather Dyer, and husband Joshua, Martinsburg, WV, and Rachel Armentrout, Pittsburgh, PA, and Thomas Armentrout, and wife Terri, Fairmont, WV; seven grandchildren, Grace and Eve Hutcherson, Lucas, Kirstin, and Chloe Dyer, and Madeline and Owen Armentrout; four brothers, S.E. "Sonny" Armentrout, and wife Joan, Chesterfield, VA, Leon "Chub" Armentrout, and wife Joyce, Longwood, FL, Leo Armentrout, Westminster, MD, and Dorrin "Butch" Armentrout, and wife Patty, Carpendale, WV; his father-in-law, Thomas Seymour, Allentown, PA; and, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene Street, Cumberland, on Monday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be conducted at Grace Baptist Church, Cumberland, on Tuesday at 11 AM. Pastor Keith Aguila will officiate, assisted by Pastor Kenny Heath. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Highland Arts Unlimited, P.O. Box 63, Keyser, WV 26726.
