Richard "Guy" Bozarth was the third of ten children born to Elizabeth Adaline "Addie" (Jones) and Major Richard Bozarth. His siblings were:

In 1921, Richard married Edith Elizabeth Johnson, the daughter of J. Swisher and W. Johnson, in Montana. Edith was born 29 April 1906 in Kirksville, Adair, MO and died 11 June 1963 in MT. They became the proud parents of nine children who were:

Major Lewis (who never married)
Richard Eugene
Gerald Guy
Jesse Gale
Lyle Delbert ("Mike")
Leona Grace
Robert Lee
Mildred Elizabeth
Ernest D. Bozarth.

Richard and Edith evidently divorced for when Edith died the year before Richard, the last name on her tombstone in the Custer County Cemetery is now COWIN.
