Laura Ruth Gorgy Bauscher, daughter of Calvin C. and Lillian (Findlay) Gorgy, died peacefully at Pleasant Valley Manor, Hamilton Township on Wednesday evening, Feb. 9.

Laura is survived by her daughter, Loretta Bauscher Hineline and her husband, Howard; grandson, Michael Hineline and his wife, Laura; grandson, Brian Hineline; great granddaughter, Danielle Hineline; great grandsons: Joe and Derrill Bunker and Billy Lawrence; great great granddaughter, Kelia Bunker; sisters, Florence Gorgy and Myrtilla Zacharias; nephews: William Zacharias and Robert and James Gorgy; grand nieces; grand nephews and many cousins and friends.

Born on July 29, 1916 in Raywood, W.V.; Laura lived in Sellersville and Allentown, before moving to Stroudsburg, where she graduated from Stroudsburg High School in 1934.

She had worked for Wyckoff's Tearoom, NuMaid Hosiery Mill, Courtland Novelty, Pocono Bias and the Pocono Shopper before retiring.

An accomplished artist, Laura loved gardening, animals and birds. For many years, Laura was a Sunday School teacher at the East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church, where she was also a member of the Davis Class. At various times she was an East Stroudsburg Band Mother and an assistant Girl Scout leader.

Laura was predeceased by Alfred C. Bauscher (1948) and their daughter, Barbara May Bauscher (1944); and her brothers, James and Charles Gorgy.
