Loretta B. "Skip" Hineline, 77, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 8, at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. She died as she lived her life, with her family.
Her family includes her husband of 58 years, Howard "Ike" Hineline; sons, Michael Hineline and his wife Laura and Brian Hineline; a granddaughter, Danielle Hineline as well as several step-grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by cousins, William Zacharias, Robert Gorgy and James Gorgy as well as many nieces, nephews and close friends. Also surviving are a brother-in-law, Irving "Jock" Hineline, Jr. and sisters-in-law, Nina Henry and Marie "Midge" Sebring.
Born on April 2, 1936, Skip was a lifelong resident of East Stroudsburg. She was salutatorian of the East Stroudsburg High School Class of 1954. For most of her life, Skip was an active member of the East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church, volunteering her time and attending services regularly until her hospitalization. She also volunteered with Monroe County Junior Bowling.
She had worked as an income tax preparer for H & R Block in Stroudsburg for many years prior to retiring in 2012. She also worked as a writer, proofreader and typist for the Pike County Courier in Milford.
Most importantly, Skip devoted herself to her family and did everything she could to enrich the lives of her husband and children. She enjoyed spending time with relatives and friends, taking scenic drives with her family, photography, reading, writing and caring for cats in her neighborhood.
Skip was a long-time member of the Jazz Mass Choir that sings annually at the Delaware Water Gap Celebration of the Arts. She also performed with the St. Matthew's Catholic Church Bell Choir.
She was the daughter of the late Laura (Gorgy) (2005) and Alfred Bauscher (1948). A sister, Barbara May Bauscher (1944) also predeceased her.
Following cremation, a graveside service for her immediate family will be held at Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg.
There will be an informal visitation for family and friends from noon to 2:00PM on Saturday, May 25, in the Fellowship Hall at East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church.
