Retired Boron Resident Passes
Funeral services for Walter Barnes, who died in a Bakersfield hospital June 5, 1954, were held in O'Donnell Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, June 8, 1954, at 2 p.m.
Mr. Barnes was born October 17, 1883, in Wilson County, Tennessee, and had been a resident of Boron for the past 10 years. He was a retired electrician. He is survived by his wife, Salena, of Boron, three sons, Thomas of Mojave, David A., of O'Fallon, Mo., and Buford A. of Desota, Mo.; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Clarston of Boron and Mrs. Edna Lavender of Elsinore, Mo. Also surviving is a stepson, Robert Willis of Mojave.
Officiant of the service was Rev. Earl Reavis of the Boron Communtty Baptist Church, soloist was Mr. Cecil Debord. Interment was in the Mojave cemetery.

Walter Barnes Passed Away in Bakersfield

Mr. Walter A. Barnes of Boron passed away last Sunday morn­ing at a Bakersfield hospital af­ter an illness of more than a year.

Mr. Barnes was born in 1883 in the state of Tennessee. He lived in Wilson County until he reach­ed young manhood, then the family moved to Nashville. It was there he met and married his wife, Salena. They went to Tex­as where they made their home until 1947 when they came to Boron.

He leaves his widow and six children, Mrs. Mary Clarkson of Boron, Thomas Barnes of Mo­jave, David Barnes of Ophalon,

Miss Buford Barnes, Desota, Miss., Mrs. Edna Lavendar, EIsi­nor, Miss., and Mr. Bob Willis. He also -leaves 19 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held in the O'Donnell Mortuary at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 8th, and he, was laid to rest in the Mojave Cemetery.

Our community extends deepest sympathy to the bereaved family.
