Alivia Coon was born on February 13, 2006, at Glens Falls, NY. At age three, she moved to Sioux Falls with her family. In a very short time after moving here, Alivia found friendships blossom all around her. Sweet and kind by nature, Alivia loved to smile and was curious and interested in everything around her.
Alivia liked to swim and was always exited discovering new things in life. She loved reading, and Junie B. Jones books soon became her favorite. She also liked collecting rocks and especially loved cheer-leading and going to the Sertoma Butterfly House. Earlier this year, she joined Dakota Spirit, a Christian-based cheering organization. She was a natural, and became a "flyer" almost immediately. Her particular squad were called the "Fire Crackers." As her mom, Rhiannon was the "Tag Mom", Alivia became involved in helping her mother with a number of fund raising activities, and helped lead the squad for the Parade of Bands in Sioux Falls, and the Dakota Spirit Showdown.
Each year, she would get excited and anxious long before her birthday came, and always had a countdown going. Simply put, Alivia liked presents. This year, Alivia's Christmas list consisted of a sparkly bike, a jewelry maker, a baby doll, a dry erase board and a Mr. Bubble Paint Set.
Alivia was full of life, love, zest and joy.
Grateful for having shared her life are her parents, David and Rhiannon White; sister, Jessica Rosario; grandparents, Tom and Cindy Boggs, Augustina Rosario; great-grandparents, Bob and Shirlene Eberhard, Ethel and Sterling Harrington; aunt, Shannon Coon; and cousins, Trevor, Gabriel and Tyler Hurlburt.
Funeral services for Alivia, Michael, and Savannah will begin 10:00 am Monday, December 31, 2012, at Celebrate Community Church, 1000 S. Sycamore Avenue. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation begins at 1:00 Sunday afternoon, with the family present from 2:00 to 4:00 pm Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, 507 S. Main Avenue.
