Edward L. Messersmith, 80, of Au Gres and Mt. Juliet, Tenn, passed away at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, Tenn. Edward was born in Ithaca, Michigan to the late Eugene and Fannie Messersmith. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1952-56 and proudly served on the USS Duncan. He is survived by 5 children, grandchildren; 2 brothers, and a sister. He was preceded in death by parents; a loving wife (m.1956) Betty Jo Vennard in 1997; and brother, William Messersmith in 2010. Interment in Linwood Cemetery, Michigan, with military honors.
