Piscataway man dies in home accident

PISCATAWAY – James Hunter, 53, of Park Avenue died yesterday at St. Peter's Medical Center, New Brunswick, from injuries suffered while loading his truck in the back yard of his home Monday. A length of pipe slipped and Struck Hunter in the head, police said.

Born in Quitman, Ga., he had resided in New Brunswick before moving to Piscataway 12 years ago Mr. Hunter had been the operator of the Tops Paving Co. of Piscataway.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Church of Christ, Harria, Ga.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Lee; two daughters, Arlene Hunter of Piscataway and Pam Miller of Philadelphia, Pa.; two sons, James Jr. of New Brunswick and Kevin Lambert of Piscataway; his mother, Emma Hunter of Middlesex; five sisters, Dorothy Adams and Lola Hill, both of Plainfield, Mary F. Franklin of Piscataway, Eula Henry of Valdosta, Ga. and Elizabeth Tobias of Middlesex; a brother, Jack Hunter Jr. of Lyons and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Tabernacle Baptist Church, 239 George St., New Brunswick.

Arrangements are by the Judkins Colonial Home, Plainfield.

Burial will be in the New Cemetery, Somerville.
