J Elton McEwen Dies After 3-Month Illness
J Elton McEwen, 63, died Monday morning in the Kendall hospital after an illness of three months which followed an operation. Funeral services were conducted at Turner's Funeral Home Wednesday morning by the Rev J E Johnstone and burial was in Palm Cemetery at Naranja.
Mr McEwen, a brother of C W McEwen, came to Homestead a year and a half ago from Bremen, GA, and made his home with a son, Elton, Jr. He was a retired carpenter and former railroad man. Survivors besides his brother and son who live in Homestead are: another son, Alexander, of Fairburn, GA, and three daughters, Mrs Earl [Reba] McClung of Breman, and Misses Belle and Elba McEwen of Atlanta.
