The Oklahoman, Monday, Oct 15, 1956: Harry Jacobs, Auditor for Tax Board, Is Dead--Harry E Jacobs Sr, 79, auditor for state tax commission, died Sunday night at Deaconess Hospital, following a two week illness. Jacobs, 3112 NE 39, had served as auditor of the motor fuel division of the tax commission for the past 13 years and was active until he entered the hospital the first of October.

Born May 7, 1877 in Plano IL, he moved to OKC in 1906 from Kansas. He was employed here for 25 years as auditor for the S M Gloyd lumber company. He has been a member of the First Baptist church since 1914 and was a member of Blue Lodge Masons. Services are pending at Watts funeral home. Surviving are two sons, Harry E Jacobs Jr, 3232 NW 29; and Chester M Jacobs, 3107 NW 38; a daughter, Mrs Dene Golliher, 805 NW 102; and two grandsons.
