Beulah Moor, age 95, of Lincoln, passed away Wednesday morning, March 26, 2008, at the Lincoln Community Nursing Home. She was born on May 12, 1912, in Benton County, Missouri, the daughter of Charley and Frances Golden Chastain Neas.
On September 30, 1928, she was united in marriage to Carl Moor at Windsor, Missouri. Following their marriage, they spent all of their married life in Benton County and unto this union; one son and one daughter were born.
Beulah was a farm wife. She helped her husband on the farm as well as working for several families in their homes in the Warsaw area. She also worked in her son’s grocery store, Bill’s Market, in Lincoln. She was a great cook and enjoyed fixing meals for family and friends. She also liked to quilt and do hand work.
Beulah first joined the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church near Lincoln and had served as secretary for over 40 years. She later transferred her membership to the First Baptist Church of Lincoln and had attended Easter morning services this past Sunday. She was dedicated to her church and she and her husband, Carl, worked in the beginning to form the Baptist Ridge Camp, a church camp for children, and continued her involvement with the camp as long as her health permitted.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, on July 22, 1987, and a son-in-law, Kermit Wenig, in April of 1984, three brothers, Guy, Raleigh and Willis Neas and three sisters, Helen Carroll, Wilma Moor and Vivian Short.
Surviving is one son, Billie Moor, and his wife, Nell, of Lincoln, a daughter, Charlene Wenig, of Lee’s Summit, five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, a sister, Irene Neas of Lincoln, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Beulah Moor will be at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, March 30, 2008, at the First Baptist Church of Lincoln with Rev. Ben Moor and Rev. Wayne Isgriggs officiating. Family will receive friends an hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Lincoln. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Baptist Ridge Camp in care of the Davis-Miller Funeral Home, Lincoln
