The funeral of Miranda Allen, colored, widow of John Allen, who died Saturday night, took place yesterday afternoon, with servies by the Rev. Joseph G. Brant, and burial in Laboring Sons' cemetery. Thomas P. Rice was the undertaker.
The 1900 census dated 5 June shows Miranda Allen and her husband, John, living on Kolbs Alley in Frederick. She is aged 68 years and gives her birthdate as January, 1832. She and her parents were all born in Maryland. She and John have been married four years and have no children.
