Buried on private land in Whitehall north of town on the old townsite. Kicked in the head by a horse. During their marriage, he told his wife he had something he needed to tell her. She never learned what that was. He appears to have possibly come to America alone, which is unusual. He lists his parents as Christian Friedrich Kiemsteadt and Katharina nee Winsen of New York on his church marriage record, but no two people by that name have been found in New York. There is a Julius Kiemsteadt who came to New York not with family in 1866 age 21 from Hanover and is a locksmith and says his destination is Illinois. This person appears to join the military in New York a couple of months after arriving. He ends up with the military in Georgia by 1870. I lose track of this person at that point. Our Julius shows up in the 1880 census in Robertson County, Texas as a single blacksmith age 28. He married Johanna Scharff two years later in Brenham. That is all we know about him.
