He was born on June 25, 1953, in Luray and was a son of the late Dorris Hilliards and was raised by the late Rose Courtney.
Mr. Hilliard worked for Masonite Corporation for 30 years as a forklift operator.
On June 25, 1977, he married the former Evon Marie Thomas, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Mike L. Hilliard of Stanley; two brothers, Roy Hilliards of Luray, and Carroll "Butch" Hilliards of Stanley; three sisters, Carolyn Hilliard of Luray, Diana Hilliards of Shenandoah, and Nancy Atkins of Stanley; a stepsister, Diane Beebe of Shenandoah; and two grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, at the Bradley Funeral Home by the Rev. Charles Clinedinst. Burial will be in the Beahm's Chapel Cemetery in Luray.
The family was to receive friends from 7-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, at the funeral home.
