She was a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church, a Sunday School teacher, former Director of the Youth Choir, and a member of the Official Board. She had a B. S. degree in Education from Longwood College and a Master's degree in Education from William and Mary, and served on the Poquoson School Board for several years.
Mrs. Forrest was also preceded in death by her sister, Rosalyn Huggett; son, Clinton "Dock" Forrest; grandson, Steven W. Forrest; nephew, Richard Huggett; and grandniece, Danie Huggett.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Wallace "Fay" Forrest Jr. and Diane; daughter-in-law, Elaine Forrest; grandson, Clinton L. Forrest Jr. and wife, Lori; four great-grandchildren, Steven Jr., Hayley, Johnny, and Casey; and nephew, Carroll Ward Huggett and wife, Georgene, and their son, Brett.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson, immediately followed by a funeral service at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel by the Rev. Rita A. Callis and the Rev. Milford C. Rollins. Burial will be private at Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton. At other times, the family will be at 3 Quail Cove, Poquoson.
Helen requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to Trinity United Methodist Church, 1294 Poquoson Avenue, Poquoson, VA 23662, or your favorite charity.
