He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a retired electrician from NUCOR Steel. He was a member of the Southside Baptist Church, a deacon and member of the Adult Fellowship Sunday School class.
Mr. Kennedy was a member of Amity Lodge No. 340, AFM, Grand Royal Arch Chapter. Omar Temple and life member of Order of Moose.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Elmore Kennedy; a daughter, Toni Kennedy (Kevin W,) Powers, of Darlington, four brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at Southside Baptist Church directed by Layton ~ Anderson Funeral Home. Entombment will be in the Mausoleum at Florence Memorial Gardens with Masonic Rites.
