Christened 29 June 1667 at Lelant, youngest son of Hannibal Hosking, yeoman. On 13 April 1702 he married Gertrude, only surviving child and heiress of Arthur Edwards, gentleman. Andrew inherited the Edwards' lands, including the 15th century manor house, The Abbey, which still stands in Lower Lelant Town. He died there in 1731 and was buried on 17 June. He and Gertrude had two children, Andrew Hosking and Gertrude Hawes. Although the Hoskings never acquired a coat-of-arms, Andrew and his descendants styled themselves "gentleman".
