He was born March 1, 1949 in Bethany, MO, the son of Charles William and Kathleen Mae (Magee) Miller.
Richard was a 1967 graduate of Gilman City High School and a 1971 graduate of Northwest Missouri State at Maryville. He served in the Army and was a member of the American Legion Post of Gilman City and VFW of St. Joseph. Richard was employed as a stockman in the dairy department at Wal-mart.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Terry Francis and Janet Mailou and long time companion, Pansy L. McKenzie (1933-2006).
