Gilman City, Missouri: Charles William Miller, age 86, died Thursday July 5, 2007 in an unfortunate automobile accident on State Highway 13 approximately 10 or so miles South of Bethany, Missouri. He was pronounced dead at Harrison County Hospital in Bethany, Missouri. Charles was born on July 20, 1920 on the family farm near Bancroft, Missouri. He was the son of Percy A. and Eva A. (Barngrover) Miller.

She preceded him in death on April 20, 2000. Charles attended school in Gilman City, Missouri, graduating there in 1938, and Northwest Missouri State College in Maryville, Missouri. He served in the Army Air Corps in 1942. Charles was a life time farmer at Gilman City, Missouri.

Charles was a member and officer of the American Legion Post, a member of Harrison County R-1V School Board for 29 years and the Gilman City United Methodist Church, and was very active in the community as well through-out his lifetime. Charles was also preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Austin and John Russell Miller.

Survivors include daughters, Terry (Bill) Francis, Clarida, Iowa; Janet (Paul) Mailou, Kempner, Texas; Ruth (Randy) Hager, Chillicothe, Missouri; Louise (Joe) Bird, Gallatin, Missouri, and Kathy (Mark) Keithley, Hong Kong, China as well as sons, Kent (Connie) Miller, Excelsior Springs, Missouri; Richard Miller, St. Joseph, Missouri, and John (Debbie) Miller, Bellflower, California; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:30 p. m., July 8, 2007 at the United Methodist Church, Gilman City, Missouri under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, Missouri. Burial with military rites in the Masonic Cemetery, Gilman City, Missouri.
