The Late Martin P. Burge--Martin Perry Burdge was born in Sullivan county, Ind. January 5, 1851. At the age of nineteen he was married to Matilda Jane Oaks and they removed to Illinois. In the autumn of 1870 Mr. and Mrs. Burdge removed to Fillmore county and took a homestead in Liberty precinct. There they resided until they removed to Geneva about twenty years ago. Mr. Burdge is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs. John Sauer of Benkelman, Mrs. J. W. Puckett and Mrs. H.D. Vorda (Vodra) of Bennett Colorado, Charles C. Burdge of Omaha, Mrs. Lilian Thompson of Sioux City and Earl Burdge of Geneva. All the children were present at the funeral, as were also S. C. Oakes of Seward and Mrs. J.W. Williams of Geneva, brother and sister of Mrs. Burdge. Mr. Burdge had served as a member of the city council. He was a member of the A.O.U.W. of A Degree of Honor and Court of Honor. The funeral was conducted from the family residence at 2:30 pm. Tuesday by Rev. C. L. Meyers. The interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The A.O.U.W. burial service was read at the cemetery.

Mrs. Harry Daniel Vodra was Elizabeth Ann Burdge (born 29 Sept. 1879) married Harry Vodra May 10, 1900 Geneva, Fillmore, Nebrska.
Charles Calvin Burdge (born March 3 1875) married Dora Maud Bolton May 1901 Omaha Nebraska.
Mrs. Lilian Thompson (Fred) was Lilian Mae born 1887
Earl Burdge was Martin Earl Burdge (born 1889) Earl married Della E. Larson Aug. 22, 1912 Fillmore, Nebraska.
