Edna Johnson
Chillicothe - Edna Johnson, 81, of 709 Third St. died at 4:25 a.m. Sunday at the Americana Nursing Center in Peoria.
Born May 24, 1904, in Chillicothe to Harry and Selma Elling Howard, she married Fred Callahan in 1924 in Chillicothe. He died in 1938. She then married Turner Johnson in 1952. He died in 1967.
Surviving are one son, Jim Callahan; two stepsons, Merle Johnson, and Adrian Johnson; one daughter, Jean Magnuson; one stepdaughter, Elaine Brown; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Harry Howard; and three sisters, Elsa Calder, Grace Root and Louise Graham. She was preceded in death by one son, two great-granddaughters, two brothers and one sister.
She was the chief telephone operator in Chillicothe for many years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church and its Ladies Aid Society.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at her church. The Rev. Charles Sensel will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in Chillicothe City Cemetery. Weber Funeral Home in Chillicothe is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
