James Gordon "Jim" Parker, of Bryan, passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2010 in Mexico.
Services are set for 1 p.m. Saturday, December 4, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale with The Rev. Doug Springer officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, December 3, at the funeral home.
He was born in Rockdale on August 31, 1965. Jim Parker was a wonderful husband, father and son with a passion for life. He was extremely generous and would give someone his last dime if he thought they needed it.
He lived everyday to the fullest and leaves behind a host of friends who were like family to him. Jim was owner of Brazos County Adjusters in Bryan. His weekends were filled with cook-offs, hunting, fishing, and just having a good time, always with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gordon Parker; and his grandfather, James "Jimmy" Doss, Sr.
Jim is survived by his wife of 22 years, Laurie Parker; his daughters, Megan Parker and Brittany Ison, all of Bryan; his mother and step father, Donna and Steve White of Lexington; sister, Jeanie and husband, Dennis Willard, of Black Jack; half sister, Kelly and husband, Joe Tovar, of Black Jack; grandmother, Jeffy Doss of Rockdale;
