MRS. WILLIAM H. HABGOOD

Services were held at 2 o'clock on Monday afternoon at the First Baptist Church for Mrs. William H. Habgood, who, with her husband celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 2nd last. The Reverand William B. Spence, pastor officiated. Burial took place in Machpelah cemetery. Mrs. Habgood died on Friday, January 22, 1954, at her home on the Randall Road, after six-month illness. She was 72.

Mrs. Habgood and her husband were natives of England. They were married at Parish Church in Oxted, Surrey County, England and came to this country five years later, in 1908. They lived in Belcoda for seven years before purchasing the former Fred Burr farm and moving to Le Roy. They sold the farm and built a new house in 1949. Mrs. Habgood was the former Alice Amelia Sargeant, daughter of John and Jane Blaker Sargeant. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Philathes Class.
