Pearl A. Kepner, 97, of Oswego, Kan., passed away Monday, August 23, at the Labette County Medical Center in Parsons, Kan., after an illness.
Pearl was born October 2, 1913 in Oswego, Kan. to Albert and Amanda (Green) Buffington.
She was the wife of longtime Oswego resident, Carl Kepner.
She was a talented painter and an avid homemaker.
She enjoyed fishing and spending time with her family.
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, William A. LaPee and Stanley W. LaPee; one brother; and three sisters.
She is survived by her loving husband; one son, Myrle LaPee of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; two daughters, JoAnn Rife of Grove and Carol Corvelli of Arvada, Colo.; sixteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; many other relatives; and a host of friends.
There will be a visitation for family and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 27, at the Thomas Funeral Home, Welch.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 28, 2010 at the Thomas Funeral Home, Welch with Rev. Raymond Whetstone officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ken LaPee, Grant Kepner, Ernie Shelton, Bret Watkins, David Barrett, Langston Polk, Randy Rife and Dusty LaPee.
Interment at Oswego Cemetery, Oswego, Kan.
Services under the direction of Jim Thomas, Thomas Funeral Home, Welch.
