Armida Martinez Gomez,84, passed away June 24, 2010 in Chandler, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Martin, on March 4, 2010; son, Carlos Gomez; and grandson, Scotty Tennison.
After 35 years of faithful service, Armida retired from the Arizona State Department of Transportation as the Deputy Director in the Motor Vehicle Department where she started as a clerk typist.
Armida is survived by son, Martin A. Gomez (Sue); daughter, Sylvia Tennison; daughter-in-law, Sherry Gomez; daughter, Lorraine Brown (Ed "Bud"): ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 29, 2010 in the Chapel of East Resthaven Park Mortuary, 4310 E. Southern Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85042, with a Rosary beginning at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at St. Edward's Catholic Church, 4410 E. Southern Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85042. Interment will follow at East Resthaven Park Cemetery.
