Motion Picture Producer. Born in Los Angeles and, after graduating from Loyola High School. He joined the Navy in 1946 as an aerial photographer. He became a composer and group vocalist with "The Skylarks," appearing on the "Dinah Shore Show." In 1958, at the age of 29 and a member of Bob Banner Associates, he became the youngest producer in television with "The Garry Moore Show." In the summer of 1960 Joe produced the mystery medical series "Diagnosis Unknown" for CBS television. He formed the first of several production companies and began turning out specials. Joe won five Emmy Awards, the first for The Garry Moore Show. Joe would marry three times. His first marriage was to Gloria Hartley and they would have eight children, his second wife was Carol Burnett and they would have three daughters together. His third and final wife, the former Lee Troggio, whom he married earlier this year. He died of cancer of the head and neck at the age of 62.
