Leis, Joseph, son of Rudy and Elizabeth (Bast) Leis, was born in Waterloo Township, Ont., on Oct. 27, 1906; died of a stroke at Pinehaven Nursing Home on Mar. 25, 1989; aged 82 y. On Nov. 9, 1929, he was married to Iona Shantz, who survives. Also surviving are 3 daughters (Elizabeth, Norma, and Nancy) and a son (Robert). He was a member of Stirling Avenue Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Mar. 28, in charge of Mary Mae Schwartzentruber; interment in Parkview Cemetery*, Waterloo, Ont.
