Luck DeAlvah married Willie Curtis Barwick, son of George Manning Barwick and Laura Ophelia Johnson.

SOPERTON - Services for Mrs. DeAlvah Thigpen Barwick, 100, of St. Simons Island were held Saturday at 1 P.M. in the chapel of Higgs Funeral Home with burial in the Westview Cemetery. Rev. Gary Peterson officiated.

Mrs. Barwick, born in the Zaidee Community in Emanuel County, lived on St. Simons Island most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Lawton Anthony Thigpen and Teresa Phillips Thigpen. She was a graduate of Georgia Teachers College in Milledgeville and retired as a teacher with the McIntosh County School System at age 72. She was a member of the St. Simons United Methodist Church. Her husband, the late Willis Curtis Barwick, and her son, the late George Manning Barwick, preceded her in death. Mrs. Barwick died Wednesday.

Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn B. Baldwin of Morganton; granddaughter, Jennifer B. Askew of Memphis, Tennessee; four great-granddaughters, Caroline, Emily, Abigail and Mary Kathryn and several nieces and nephews.
